Course Description: 

The Forty Hadith of Palestine is a collection of Hadith about Palestine, Sham, the people, events in the past, and future events that will occur in the area. In this class students will become familiar with the Arabic of the hadith and be able to read them correctly, and they will gain an appreciation and understanding of the Islamic worldview toward Palestine. 

We will cover topics like the Day of Judgment, the Dajjal, Isra and Mi’raj, historical narrative through hadith, blessings of the sacred land, and more. Students will be able to deepen their du'a and soothe their hearts regarding the people and land of Palestine.
By the end of this short course, students will have an appreciation for the importance of this land in the Islamic tradition. Qualifying students will also have the opportunity to receive an ijaza in this hadith compilation.

Learning Objectives:

Students will be able to:
  • Explain the significance of Palestine (Bilad al-Sham), al-Aqsa, and Ghazza for Muslims 
  • Understand the forty hadith included in the collection
  • Explain the connection between aqida and Palestine
  • Understand the history of historical Palestine and our Prophet’s relationship to it
  • Develop appropriate emotional responses to the cities and people of Palestine and to be motivated to make du’a 
  • Students seeking ijaza will be able to read the hadith smoothly and without hesitation or mistakes, using correct letter pronunciation. 

Course Prerequisites: 

  • Students should be women above the age of 17.

Ijaza Requirements:

  • Students seeking ijaza will have an additional $50 administrative fee. 
  • During the classes, students will be informed of next steps to verify if they are eligible for ijaza.
  • Live attendance is required

Course Requirements: 

This is an online course so students will need:

  • Access to internet with an internet speed of at least 2 Mbps recommended for best performance. 
  • Headphones, camera and microphone may be required for in-class participation. 
  • To access the live class and recordings, students will need a computer, smartphone, or tablet/iPad with the Zoom app.
