On behalf of everyone at Rabata, we pray you and your families are well. Ramadan is just around the corner and we look forward to our best one yet. With the coming of the month, so too comes Rabata's main fundraising campaign for the year.

When we study the life of the Prophet ﷺ, we recognize the significance of ambassadors. Ambassadors are representatives who show up for something they believe in, in a way that is inclusive, confident, and wholesome.

Different companions were sent to nations to spread the message of Islam. Mus'ab ibn Umayr (rA) was appointed as the first ambassador and traveled to Yathrib (Medina) to prepare the city for the forthcoming Hijra.

This Ramadan, consider becoming an ambassador like Mus’ab ibn ‘Umayr (rA) and spread the light of joyful faith in your community. You can become a Rabata Ambassador this Ramadan and help raise awareness and donations for Rabata amongst your family, friends, and colleagues.

We have exciting programs flourishing at Rabata, each needing the support of our community to bring them to fruition.

As part of our 10-year strategic vision, we seek to expand the Ribaat Academic Institute to ALSO be an affordable, accessible, and accredited online Ribaat University where women from anywhere in the world can study and receive a bachelor’s degree. We plan to publish MORE books by Muslim women female authors and SUPPORT our K-12 program to be able to accommodate more women and girls in our certification and Dragonflies programs!

This year, our goal is $750K to make sure we continue to serve the growing number of women and children who are finding solace, hope, and potential in our programs.

3. Add a title and fundraising goal for your campaign. We are encouraging Ambassadors to raise $3,000 USD, however, you can pick a number that suits you.

4. Personalize by adding photos and messaging to complete your campaign page. We recommend making it as personalized as possible (use photos you have of yourself at Rabata retreats, RCC, screenshots of yourself in online class etc.), so that your network can see how much of an impact Rabata has had on you and women like you!

5. Once you complete setting up your page, you can click “Submit for Review” in the top right corner.

You will receive an email notification once we approve your campaign. From there, you can start fundraising! Send the link to your network via email, social media, WhatsApp, or any other platform of your choice! This is your campaign so get creative and make it fun!

We know that some of our ambassadors will do exceptionally well and even surpass the $3,000 target. As a celebratory gesture, we have some exciting gifts for our top three fundraisers. They include:

2 days at the Rabata Cultural Center in Minnesota*
Private tea party with Dr. Tamara Gray (virtual or in-person)*
1 free course at the Ribaat Academic Institute

What is Rabata?

Rabata is a 501(c)3 US-based, international organization which works to build a better society through the educational and spiritual development of women by women, amplifying the female voice in scholarship and publishing, and graduating teachers and religious leaders ready to serve their communities.

Rabata envisions a rising tide of Muslim women teachers, faith leaders, and community stewards in every digital and local neighborhood worldwide.

Muslim women have historically been a vital part of the foundation of Islamic scholarship, leadership, and community care. Starting in 2012, Rabata joined this legacy by creating a rising tide of Muslim women becoming scholars, community leaders, and positive cultural change agents.

This Ramadan, help Rabata reach their fundraising goal of $750K! The funds collected will be used to maintain existing programs as well as exciting EXPANSIONS! These will include:

Helping ESTABLISH Ribaat University (an extension of the Ribaat Academic Institute program) which will be an online women’s only US-accredited university. Women from anywhere in the world can study and receive a University Degree in Islamic studies, Writing and Publishing, or Nonprofit Leadership at an affordable cost to avoid putting students into burdensome debt.

Publish MORE books by Muslim women authors. The literary world is filled with misconceptions, misrepresentations, and exotification of Islam and Muslims. You can help us fight the negative narratives out there by supporting the publishing of Muslim female authors who will put out an accurate and authentic narrative of Islam and Muslims for both Muslims and non-Muslims to read and enjoy.

SUPPORT our K-12 program which provides Muslim female teachers with the skills, knowledge, and tools they need to be able to teach Islam for students between Kindergarten and Grade 12. The K-12 program plan includes developing and publishing a complete curriculum. Additionally, support young Muslim females in our Dragonflies and RabaTEENS programs to develop a strong Islamic identity and support system of female role models from across the world!
